Bad Blogger!

I know, I know...I've been a really bad blogger lately!
But, to make up for it I'm going to share a bunch of new layouts with you! Two Peas in a Bucket is having their Winter CHA event with lots of challenges that have really inspired me to get creating this weekend. So since you've all patiently waited so long for a new post, I'm not going to make you wait much longer for new layouts...here ya go!
This last one is my new favorite layout! I used a Maya Road chipboard snowflake and use a shimmery teal paint to cover it. I used some of my stash and some of my new stuff and finally told the story of how Chad surprised me with a pearl ring on our snow skiing trip!

Hope you enjoyed the layout show!

I'm in Love!!!

...and I wish I lived in Utah! I just found this amazing furniture/house blog this morning! It's called {show&tell} and she sells her furniture, but only to people in Utah. I guess I'm just going to have to get busy and learn how to do some of this myself!
I've found a building plan for a desk for my office space, so I need to start on that. I also want to paint, distress, and glaze an old winged table to put in our kitchen area. And, I've decided that since the porch is cement floors, I'm bring the old dresser project inside. I can't stand the cold anymore and don't want to wait for it to warm up to finish this piece of furniture.
Oh, and I'm starting tonight! I get all these ideas and then I never do any of them. I need to find my motivation and put to use all this creativity!
Be back soon...

My Next Big Project!

First, some background information. We have been living in our home for 1 1/2 years. Before that, it was a run-down farm house that used to be my fiancĂ©'s grandparents' and we remodeled it before we moved in October 2009. We have slowly been buying pieces to replace our college furniture and make it a more grown-up home. Last night we put up the last book shelf in the living room and our new entertainment center looks amazing with our new TV and new couches!
Now, I've already been getting crazy ideas about decorating and designing a new office in the porch! We only have 3 bedrooms, one of which is now the office. But, we have a huge closed in porch! The problems, it's a super long, narrow L-shape, it is all white and I can't paint the walls because they are all connected to each other,  and it has painted cement floors which make it very cold.
My plan is to finish the entry way, creating a sitting area in the corner of the L and then at the end of the longest part, I want to put an office and an extra sleeping area for guests. My idea right now is to put the bed down at the end where I can hang a curtain to close it off and then put the office right next to it. I want to share my inspiration with you and hopefully if anyone has any suggestions for my long and skinny space you can help me!

Inspiration...

Our room is skinny like this and has windows facing outside and into the house like this too.
I'm considering putting the desk more in the middle of the room so that we can face out the window instead of at a wall.
This is a great example of the curtain/bedroom concept that I want to accomplish. I've also considered a day bed for the seating area but it will only sleep one person...
I would love to do this to the ceiling! I really want to do beadboard on the walls with trim too but we already have the industrial plastic baseboard on the walls...glued on...

Tell me what you think, send me links to anything that might help me or sign me up for one of those decorating shows! haha, but seriously...I need help with my space!

My Digital Thursday

Well, I told you all that I would be doing digital layouts in 2011...I completed 3 today! These are the Christmas pictures that I wanted to use for actual layouts and not just in my December Daily. The first layout is based off of the sketch at Sketchy Thursdays this week.
This next layout was done using a template from Gennifer Bursett for the Blueprint Challenge over at Design House Digital.
Finally, this layout was done for the scraplift challenge issued by Shannon in the Young Scrappers thread over at Two Peas in a Bucket.
Challenges are really going to help me get into this digital scrapbooking thing. Now that I think of it, that where I started when I did paper scrapbooking too. It really makes you try something new with an end goal in mind. When I paper scrapbook now, I just kind of go with it and eventually I think that is what I will do with digital too. For now, I like the challenges! Go check out any of the ones I have mentioned and let me know if you complete any! I'd love to see your work!

Weight Loss Journal

How many of you are making weight loss a goal in 2011??? Lots of hands up in the air? Yup, me too! As I've said though, it's really more of a get fit and feel better about myself goal. So, I whipped up this little mini album that will help me track my efforts!
I used the free Sarah Dudley Sunkissed papers from DHD and the free Cinzia Date Brushes, also from DHD. I just recolored the paper for each month!
I don't need to share every page with you but they are all a mixture of these three pages. Some of the picture pages have the circle months and some have the strip months, but all of the info pages are set up like this. I'm really excited to get it printed out and start tracking the progress I've already made!

How are you tracking your 2011 goals? I would love to see!

New Year, New Adventures!

I don't do resolutions...It never works and always fails.
I also don't have any pretty pictures or craft layouts to share with you.
I'm making goals in my life, not just 2011, and I know that these goals will lead me on great adventures.

1. Move. Be active. Exercise. Have fun! I want to feel better and look better and in order to accomplish this, I need to get active and move my body. The main factor in this decision to move more is that our wedding is coming up in July so I want to look good for that.

2. Finish those projects!!! I have an old dresser partially stripped, I have our home re-model scrapbook started, and I have a big dent made in my pile of pictures but they're not all in albums yet. These are the 3 projects that I want to finish in 2011.

3. This last one is more of an adventure than a goal. I want to really get into digital scrapbooking. I've challenged myself to scrap all of my 2011 pictures digitally!

and finally...something that I really want to change is the potty mouth that happens on occasion. I've already substituted "bugger" into my vocabulary...don't ask why I'm British all of a sudden! haha! But really, I need to stop the words before they come out of my mouth. Another improvement to my over all life, not just 2011.

So there it is! Sweet and simple. Those are my goals for 2011! What are you striving for this year!?
