Happy Hump Day!

The week is half-way gone and I'm still chugging along with this "makes me happy" week...(which is proving harder than I thought). However, I've got some goodies today that make me happy and might even brighten your day as well!

Welcome to my  second "makes me happy" post! Not too much to share because I cleaned and did a lot of work around the house last night...which then equaled quite a crabby mood. However, I felt better later because of this...

"Makes Me Happy"

Hello blog land! Alright so this week has started off a little rough and is only going to get rougher! A window on my Jeep won't roll up and down anymore and it's going to cost around $200 to fix it! I also just scheduled our puppy for surgery to get spayed so that is kind of sad to me. And....on Tuesday we will have 5 lovely girls staying at our house for about a week. Chad's family from Idaho comes down every 4th of July and since our house is done this year, the girls will be at our house. Ages 8? - 17 all in one house! 


In honor of my crazy-to-be week, I'm going to share a few things every day that make me happy! I will try to keep a positive attitude even with lots of chaos going on. So here are my Monday's worth of "makes me happy."

We're working on planning our wedding for next July! This picture will be the inspiration for the flowers and the coral color makes me very happy to be planning and having fun with it all!

We're grilling salmon and steak tonight for supper! mmmm....enough said!

Ok, this one may not make most people all that happy but I just installed 4 of these on our enclosed porch yesterday and they keep it soooo much cooler in there! We also got the base trim on and the porch is now a finished living space that I love!

The Ugliest Sweater

Here's a layout I did of more pictures of our ugly sweater party this last Christmas. The winner was our friend Chris in his Mickey Mouse sweater and spinning hat. Mark sweatshirt was sporting a sparkly ball Christmas tree that had lights and all! I had fun making this layout and it was so quick to just put together some scraps and some left over die-cuts from Christmas cards. I also love the red felt thickers because they're fuzzy just like our ugly sweaters!

We're engaged!!!

Chad proposed last Monday night! We were just talking and making supper quick and it just happened! We're getting married next July 2nd and we're so excited! Oh, did I say that I love my ring...? I LOVE my ring!!! :D

  A layout about all the things that we did outside of work such as summer Olympic games, Christmas parties and the map that was part of many inside jokes! I made the embellishment with scraps that I cut in circles and crinkled up, then finished it with a sewn on button.

This is a layout I did real quick this morning while Chad was sleeping on the couch. Just scraps of left over Christmas paper, some letter stickers and some chipboard letters. I also used a diecut ornament from my Cricut and a die cut from My Mind's Eye for the journaling. We had an ugly sweater party at our house this last winter to let everyone come over and see our remodel of the house. Don't you love those ugly sweaters!!!

Finally a Layout!

I've been busy playing outside with our puppy (who is growing like a weed!) Speaking of weeds, I was about ready to just till up the whole garden last week...there are so many weeds! We're finishing up some house work so that the whole project is d-o-n-e when Chad's family comes to visit for the 4th. I did find some free time and got to work on this layout. Over at 2Peas, I hang out with a group of girls and we're doing some fun little challenges for the summer. The first was to scraplift a pea in your favorites, next was to make a homemade embellishment and mine this week is to use a sketch. This layout could have been for the lift or the sketch but we'll just say it's for the embellishments. I used a bunch of different pictures I had of my time working at US Bank during college. Enjoy! We're going on vacation to Worlds/Oceans of Fun next week!
