Make It Yourself Monday - Pie Crust!

It's definitely fall and the weather is cool so what sounds better than some yummy warm pies?!

I'm working on making apple pies and freezing them right now. We gathered apples from a friend of my parents and I came home with a 5 gallon bucket of juicy red apples. I've already made one pie and one apple crisp. When making pies it's so nice to have crust on hand and ready to go and if you're making more than one, it's a pain to mix up your pie crusts while your're trying to make your filling. So, this morning I whipped up a batch of pie crust for about 7 crusts and tomorrow night I'll make all my pies. This pie crust is great frozen for a few months. I just separate it into freezer bags and put in the freezer. Then, when I want to use it I just thaw it in the fridge for a few hours. Here's the recipe...

Pie Crusts (7 pies)
7 cups of flour
4 cups Crisco
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar

Mix all ingredients well. Add 1 1/2 cups of ice cold water and mix again. Either refrigerate over night or separate and freeze.

Thanks for stopping by this Monday!
